Can wear these in warm weather without socks, they are leather lined, not with some artificial machine made material that does not breathe! Nothing like a good old "made in US" shoe. Mid-weight Vibram sole is great for damp weather without the weight of a winter boot. These boots are hand stitched in Maine, I have seen the videos. I have a small leather business of my own and I can only shake my head when people go off about 270 bucks for a pair of boots. They dont understand how much it costs and what you get when a pair of good boots like these are made. This really is a case of "you get what you pay for". They are worth $270, at $100 Redwing lost money on these.
